WordPress has released 3.9 under beta and it’s looks pretty interesting with a host of new features, some useful and some not.
- Direct posting from MS-Word. GOOD. Yeah, big one. Got used to watching clients break their blog sections by copying and pasting from Word.
- Drag and drop images. OKAY. Not that useful to directly drop into content and didn’t work all the time when we’re playing with it.
- OAuth. GOOD. Better support between sites running OAuth such as Facebook and Twitter.
- Multi-site loading improvements. GOOD. Not every uses multi-site but we use it fairly heavily and improving the way plugins load is a good thing, makes it more stable
Full release is due soon and I expect we’ll have upgraded client sites before summer fully arrives.
