WordCamp is a global series of conferences that focuses on WordPress, the world’s leading digital CMS framework – the core platform that underpins our curated digital framework, VNX.
We are proud and pleased to be official sponsors for the first WordCamp London event, on November 23rd & 24th 2013. WordCamps are informal, community-organised events that are put together and bring together everyone from casual users to core developers who participate, share ideas, and get to know each other.
It’s a fantastic group of like-minded individuals, all focussed on helping each other and WordPress as a whole and we’ve derived huge amounts of inspiration and contact networks from this and other events around the world, including the daddy of them all, SanFran WordCamp.
Connected are committed to WordPress as a core digital platform, and have been for over 5 years. We offer a unique set of skills that bring together technical know-how, experience and a strong sales and marketing focus. This makes us ideally placed to help corporate organisations embrace the open-source world of WordPress without sacrificing the commercial and business needs.
A small team of 6 will be attending the event over the weekend to network and share, the ranks being swelled by a handful of clients who are also going to join us.
It’s an exciting time to be in the WordPress space as the old-fashioned world of hand-cut digital services starts to fade away due to super-high costs and ridiculously long deployment times. Welcome to a new world of open source, re-cycled learning, agile delivery and world-class UX and design.
WordCamp London 2013 is the first WordCamp in England’s capital. Spread over two days, the event will comprise a day of presentations in one of London’s historic buildings, and a day of contributing WordPress hosted by fellow open source project, Mozilla.
The event will feature presentations from WordPress designers and developers, experts and enthusiasts from the UK and worldwide. Everyone is welcome – whether you’re trying out WordPress for the first time, are a veteran blogger, or write Custom Post Types in your sleep, come along to learn and have fun with other WordPressers.
If you want to meet up with the Connected team on the day, tweet us @Connected_uk with the hashtag #WCmeetup. We’re promising to buy the coffee and biscuits. To recognise that our lovely team have families and lives outside of Connected, we’re hosting a gala night out at the World Premier of the West End show, The Commitments, with family, work colleagues and friends. It promises to be a fab night!
