The first major WordPress update of 2014 is now underway after Automattic announced the release of version 3.8 of WordPress during December.
As a professional WordPress development company we don’t throw out new WordPress updates without thoroughly checking them first and we’re in the final phases of completing this quality step. What does this mean?
WordPress 3.8 will be live during January
Updates to existing WordPress installations will start in the next week. New client installations from today onwards will be WordPress 3.8
How will this affect you?
Administrators, editors and authors will see a new admin panel. It simpler and easier to use, specifically the management of plugins and child themes.
There are a number of other key changes but they are mainly under the hood so nothing to stress about.
2014 feels like it’s going to be a WordPress year. Loving it (to coin Macdonalds)
